WEY POETS

We're a local group of friendly poets. We enjoy giving and receiving constructive criticism at our regular workshops, reading to the group and giving in-depth presentations on chosen topics at our meetings. There's a wide range of styles, approaches and subject matter, anything from political and humanitarian concerns to the beauty of nature and personal experiences of life.

We also read at other venues and at open mic events in Surrey, Hampshire and London.

We regularly publish anthologies of our poetry. Ripples (2016), Pathways (2019), Roots (2023) and Horizons (2026) are available for purchase on this website by contacting Owen Osler.

Horizons: The Wey Poets' 50th Anniversary Anthology

A celebratory collection of poems to mark a half-century of poetry by the Guildford area's Wey Poets. It offers a feast of varied voices and a range of subject matter that takes the reader from thoughts evoked by landscapes, gardens, wildlife and seasonal weather to meditations on life and death, memory, time and the vagaries of twenty-first century living.
